Custom diner film set with red booths and neon signage built in Fort Worth

Custom Film Sets · Dallas–Fort Worth

If you can describe it,
it can be built.

Northside Studios designs and builds custom film sets for productions across Dallas–Fort Worth. Everything happens in one Fort Worth warehouse: design, construction, dressing and the shoot itself.

What custom means

Not a rental. A build.

A custom set is designed for your script instead of chosen from a catalogue. The room is the size your scene needs, the walls open where your camera needs them, and the dressing belongs to your characters.

DFW has plenty of locations you can rent for a day. What it has far less of is a place where an independent production can have an environment purpose-built at a price that fits a real indie budget — and then shoot it in the same building, without a truck, a permit or a landlord.

That is the entire point of Northside Studios. You bring reference images, sketches, script pages or just a description. We design it, build it, dress it and hand you a camera-ready environment.

Bring whatever you have

Some productions arrive with a full production designer's package. Others arrive with three photos and a paragraph. Both are workable. The consult exists to turn whatever you have into a scope, a schedule and a number.

Serving DFW

One warehouse. The whole metroplex.

We're in Fort Worth and we work with productions from across Dallas–Fort Worth — Dallas, Arlington, Denton, Plano, Irving and the surrounding cities.

Design, construction and shooting all happen at the Fort Worth warehouse, so crews travel once and shoot in a space that is already prepared. For a production shooting several interior environments, that consolidation is usually cheaper and far faster than chasing separate locations across the metroplex.

Quick answers

Filmmaker questions

Can Northside Studios build a custom film set?

Yes. Northside Studios designs and constructs custom camera-ready environments from its Fort Worth production warehouse. Filmmakers can bring script pages, reference images, sketches or an original concept, and the set can be designed around the production's creative requirements, budget and shooting needs.

Does Northside Studios serve Dallas productions?

Yes. We serve filmmakers throughout Dallas–Fort Worth. All design, construction and shooting happens at our single Fort Worth production warehouse.

What kind of film sets can Northside Studios build?

Apartments, bedrooms, offices, ranch interiors, bars, restaurants, interrogation rooms, hospital rooms, industrial environments, period interiors and completely original fictional environments.

Can an existing set be modified?

Yes. Existing sets can be repainted, redressed, reconfigured or partially rebuilt. Adding an existing finished set to a shoot day is +$150 per day, and modification work is quoted based on scope.

Can I design, build and shoot a set in the same facility?

Yes. Design, construction, set dressing and shooting can all happen inside the same Fort Worth warehouse, so your production never has to move a finished set.

How much does Northside Studios cost?

A full production day of up to 10 hours is $500 and a half day of up to five hours is $325. Overtime is $75 per hour. Custom set design starts at $500 and construction is quoted per project.
