Construction
Sets are built for the camera.
A film set is not a building. It is a machine for making images: walls that come away, surfaces that hold light the way you want, and a footprint sized to the lens you're actually using.
Everything we build starts from that premise. Walls are framed so they can be pulled for a reverse. Corners get built where the camera needs a corner. Ceilings stay open where lighting has to come from above. Nothing is built to code for a house that will never exist — it's built to survive a shoot week and photograph correctly.
Modular by default
We build in flats and modular units rather than fixed rooms. A modular set can be reconfigured into a different room, extended for a wider frame, or partially struck to open up an angle. For a production shooting several environments on a small budget, this is usually where the savings come from: one build, several looks.
Finish where it counts
Camera-facing surfaces get real attention — texture, aging, the specific kind of wear a place would actually have. Surfaces outside the frame get built plainly and quickly. That split is deliberate, and it's how a modest budget still produces a set that reads as expensive on screen.
Existing sets can be modified
Not every project needs a build from zero. Existing standing sets can be repainted, redressed, reconfigured or partially rebuilt into something new, which is almost always the fastest path to a finished environment.

Process
From approved design to standing set.

Scope the build
We take the approved design and break it into what has to be built, what can be rented or repurposed, and what the camera never sees.

Build the structure
Framing, flats, corners and door units go up in the warehouse. Walls are built to be moved, so coverage is never blocked by construction.
- 03
Surface + finish
Paint, texture, wallpaper and aging. This is where a built wall stops reading as plywood and starts reading as a place with history.
- 04
Dress + light
Practicals get wired in, furniture and props land, and the set is walked with a camera to confirm every planned angle holds.
- 05
Shoot, hold or strike
Shoot the same week in the same building. Hold the set overnight between days, or have it struck and stored for a return shoot.
Advantage
Nothing has to be transported.
The build happens in the same warehouse you shoot in. A finished set never gets disassembled, trucked, and reassembled — the single most common way set money disappears.
It also compresses the schedule. Design, build, dress and shoot can run as one continuous process in one location, and if something isn't working on the day, the shop is on site to change it.

Construction is quoted per project because a two-wall bedroom and a full diner are not the same build. Scope, materials, finish level and build time all factor in, and we scope in tiers so you can see your options.
